Man Cave

This basement transformation was definitely one of the more challenging experiences I’ve encountered. The home, which was built in 1961 and had suffered extensive water damage from rain and leaky pipes. Therefore, before any cosmetic work could be done, we had to address the leakage issues first. The cinder block walls, were waterproofed, a new sump pump drainage system was installed. The exterior of the home had to be regraded so that the water would run away from the house whenever it rained. Once the work was completed we reimagined the huge space into 3 zones. The first being a basement bar! The bar was custom built by a skilled local craftsman, and designed by yours truly. The second is the media center, sectioned off with a pony-wall room divider which utilized the awkward support posts to make a bar top that rests behind a huge sectional sofa and TV. Lastly, we saved some room for a home gym which showcases the new epoxy floors. All of the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems were tucked away in closets for a clean look any man would be happy to call their cave!
